LIHEAP Program
LIHEAP is a Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program that helps to keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist with energy costs. LIHEAP is a seasonal program that assist with heating and cooling costs. Please note that all services are provided by appointment only.
LIHEAP Program
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is available to all income eligible households in Fulton County and the City of Atlanta. This program offers a payment of $350, $450, or $500 once per program year to be applied to your home energy bill.
We will begin accepting applications for Seniors (65+) beginning April 1, 2024 at 11AM for the LIHEAP Cooling Program. The general population can apply beginning May 1, 2024, until funds are exhausted.

What documents are required?
Please bring copies of all required documents to your scheduled appointment.
- Current gas bill and electric bill (Must show your name, full address, account number, and amount due.)
- Proof of income for the last 30 days for all occupants over 18 years old
- Social Security cards for all household members
- Valid Photo ID (Driver’s License, Permanent Resident Card, Passport, etc.)
When can I apply?
LIHEAP Heating
Accepting applications for Seniors (65+) beginning December 1, 2023, and the general population January 2, 2024, until funds are exhausted.
LIHEAP Cooling
Accepting applications for Seniors (65+) beginning April 1, 2024, and the general population May 1, 2024, until funds are exhausted.
