LET YouthBuild HELP YOU PLAN YOUR FUTURE!
The YouthBuild Program began in 1993 as THE POSITIVE POSSEE - a program created by FACAA’s CEO to build leadership, decrease unemployment and deter violence among youth. It evolved into a successful program which provides an opportunity for youth to use their skills to better the community and help the less fortunate, especially senior citizens. Now directed by FACAA’s own Dr. Yvonne Thomas, her team of six youth experts deliver counseling, education, home-building and repair skills, along with motivation and preparation for a complex world.
The youth who complete this program leave with a renewed perspective on life and a new sense of empowerment. It’s touching to witness the growth in the participants. The staff members also gain a sense of accomplishment when the youth “grow up” before their very eyes. Click here for graduation photos.
FACAA has trained over 200 young people in the home-building profession, many of whom have found new meaning and success. Click here for Success Stories.
